Diploma Policy

Master’s Degree Program

  1. 1. Goals for Personal Development

    Students who can comprehensively understand the problems about the environmental symbiosis that preserves rich nature as the place supporting human activities and aims at nature’s sustainable use.

  2. 2. Conferment of Degrees

    We grant a master’s degree to those who have earned the required credits and must also research their environmental symbiosis theme scientifically, summarize their achievements in a Master’s thesis, and present them in a professional setting.

Doctoral Degree Program

    We grant a doctorate degree to those who have earned the required credits, and can pursue the manner in order to realize a symbiosis between natural environment and human activities, research their theme consistent with this graduate school’s philosophy that aims to develop communities and improve human welfare, systematically summarize the achievements in a doctoral dissertation, and present them to society.

Master’s Degree Program

  1. 1. Structure of education curriculums

    In a comprehensive and scientific manner, students will learn and investigate issues concerning the sustainable use of environmental resources while preserving nature as a place that supports human activities. They will also acquire the skills needed for compiling and delivering research outcomes through presentations and research paper writing. We construct the curriculum as follows to support student’s academic improvement.

    1. (1)The courses “Environmental and Symbiotic Sciences Seminar I” and “Environmental and Symbiotic Sciences Seminar II” are included so that students will be able to understand and write scientific papers in English.
    2. (2)The courses “Environmental and Symbiotic Sciences Seminar III” and “Environmental and Symbiotic Sciences Seminar IV” are included so that students will develop the research and presentation skills needed in the pursuit of further understanding the study of environmental and symbiotic sciences.
  2. 2. Education methods

    Students will conduct high-level academic research related to ecology while developing and integrating the specialized knowledge learned within each department of the program.

  3. 3. Evaluation of learning achievements
    • Teachers in charge will evaluate the learning achievements according to the evaluation criteria determined in the syllabus.
    • For assessing its student’s master’s thesis, we will carry out the assessment by the screening criteria based on the diploma policy.

Doctoral Degree Program

  1. 1. Structure of education curriculums

    The elective courses “Ecology-Related Environmental Symbiosis Special Seminar,” “Residence-Related Environmental Symbiosis Special Seminar” and “Food and Health-Related Environmental Symbiosis Special Seminar” are offered to promote in students a further understanding, from a variety of perspectives, the study of environmental and symbiotic sciences that are based on the specialized knowledge learned in the master’s degree program.

  2. 2. Education methods

    Students will acquire specialized and academic knowledge concerning environmental and symbiotic sciences to gain a deeper understanding of ecological issues. They will also seek methods by which human activities can harmoniously coexist with the natural environment, study along themes that match the graduate school’s principle of contributing to community and social welfare development and improvement and acquire the skills needed to systematically compile findings and outcomes in papers to be presented to society in general.

  3. 3. Evaluation of learning achievements
    • Teachers in charge will evaluate the learning achievement according to the evaluation criteria determined in the syllabus.
    • For assessing its student’s dissertations, we shall carry out the assessment by the screening criteria based on the diploma policy.
